The old adage... "There's strength in numbers" was never more accurate than in today's tough business climate.

This is especially true in the HVAC industry. Monroe Equipment, Inc., a HVAC wholesaler, succeeds by partnering with the most qualified heating and cooling dealers.

Monroe strongly supports its dealers and believes that together, as a team, we will have the resources and critical strength needed to successfully meet the heating and air conditioning needs of Wisconsin home owners.

Since our founding more than 50 years ago, Monroe Equipment has focused on customer service, while delivering the best value in heating and cooling products.

Claude Grieger was Monroe Equipment’s first employee and president. After working several years in the heating and cooling industry, Claude ultimately became Monroe Engineering’s sole employee in 1966. At that time, Monroe's only product was gas conversion burners. But because most people were then converting their furnaces, the company became a highly successful business.

Over time Monroe added several new products that significantly improved our position in the marketplace. In 1969, the owner of Monroe Engineering sold Claude the company. Claude then expanded by adding the Armstrong Air line of furnaces and changed the company's name to Monroe Equipment, Inc.

In 2007, Claude began preparing a succession plan for the company. Randy Schneider, then Vice President, put together an offer and purchased Monroe in April 2009. With a smooth transition, Monroe Equipment was once again working hard to provide the best customer service in the industry.

Now the president of Monroe Equipment, Randy Schneider came to work at Monroe in 1970, while still a student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. After graduating in 1973, Randy held a series of engineering, sales and management positions at Monroe. Randy is a professional engineer (PE) and works closely with all departments to provide the best service possible.

Today, Monroe Equipment offers a full line of HVAC products at competitive prices while offering exceptional customer service to all dealers in Wisconsin. Monroe also provides a number of value-added services to our dealers, including marketing support, business and technical training and engineering services.

Since our inception over 50 years ago, Monroe Equipment has prided itself on delivering not only quality service, but also the best value in heating and cooling products. This philosophy, combined with our belief that our products should be and are sold exclusively through professional heating and cooling contractors, has helped us grow into an industry leader throughout Wisconsin.

As many of our satisfied customers have come to know, Monroe Equipment offers not only products and services you can depend on, but also a partnership, developing innovative programs and business solutions to help our customer grow and prosper.

  • Have your heating system checked and tuned up prior to each heating season to insure safe and efficient operation.
  • Replace standard 1” furnace filters monthly or enhanced filters as recommended by the manufacture of the filter. A clean filter will result in less energy consumed and longer equipment life.
  • If your furnace is an older low efficiency model (50-60% efficient furnaces are identified by a metal flue pipe) consider replacing it with a more efficient model with an efficiency rating up to 95%. You can cut your heating cost up to 50%.
  • When replacing your furnace insist on a primary and secondary heat exchanger constructed of stainless steel. This will insure longer, safer operation of your heating system.
  • When replacing an old furnace consider a model with two stage heating and an “ECM” motor. You don't expect to drive your car at full throttle, why would you heat your home with one stage of heat? The ECM motor requires only 10% of the electrical energy that a standard motor requires.
  • Consider replacing a low efficient model furnace with a dual fuel heating system that utilizes a heat pump during mild weather and a high efficient gas furnace during more severe temperatures. A heat pump can operate with an efficiency of 300% at temperatures of 47 degrees and higher, making the heat pump less costly to operate than a gas furnace above 47 degrees. Discuss this option for your home with your heating specialist before replacing your old furnace or air conditioner.
  • If you do not currently have a set-back thermostat, install and use it. A set-back thermostat allows you to automatically turn down the heat when you are away at work or while you are sleeping, and then boost the temperature to a more comfortable level when you need it. Proper use of a set-back thermostat could cut your fuel cost by 5% to 10%.
  • Make sure all heating vents are open and unblocked by furniture or other items. This will insure air is evenly distributed throughout the home.
  • Monroe Equipment's engineering department is a mix of youthful vision and experienced insight. We have

built this department on a strong base of knowledge and experience. We provide over 125 years of engineering design and product

experience. Whether large or small, there is no project that we can't handle.

Unlike many design firms, Monroe Equipment does not over-engineer or over-budget designs. Our mission

is to provide every one of our customers with a practical, cost effective and efficient system that

meets the end user's needs. We achieve this by including our customers and their insights in every

If there is any way that we can help make your job easier, please let us know. From multi-family
